Platform Shoes Ideas

Platforms Today:

In the early 2010s a new, unusual shoe trend emerged: the ugly shoe. The trend includes the "flatform," a thick, platform sole that is completely flat and doesn't contain a heel of any kind. Simple shoes like sandals and oxfords are outfitted with a fashion forward platform that offers a boost of height. Though flatforms are in style, they're generally reserved for trendsetters.

How to Wear Platform Shoes:

A thick platform underneath the toe box helps to stabilize the foot and allows for the heel to be a few inches taller. Despite the heights platform shoes can reach, those who wear them often find them easier to walk in than single-soled heels. The extra boost of height from the platform helps maintain balance.
Since the thickness of the sole is what makes a platform a platform, the shoe can take on many styles. There are platform pumps, wedges, peep toes, boots and more, and depending on the materials and style of the shoe, the platform can work in every season. Think cork and raffia soles for warm weather and leather and richly colored velvet for colder months.
